3.5 Weeks in Europe: Barcelona to Munich

First Meal in Barcelona...the menu was hard to read but the food was good.

There is no time like the present to get down thoughts and lessons learned on my trip. It is almost four AM and I have been up since two. I thought yesterday I may have been over my jet lag, which is pretty fast. It usually takes me a week or so. I guess not quite yet. One full day home is a tiny bit ambitious I guess.

I slept THE WHOLE WAY to Barcelona on the plane. I think this was evidence as to just how utterly exhausted I really was. 12 hours straight and I probably could have slept longer. In fact, I did. I had no problem sleeping on trains and buses until the end of the trip when I only slept about two hours on the way home.

Many of the places I stayed were bare bones with bathrooms down the hall. One way to make three weeks in Europe possible. See that bag in the corner? The bottom started ripping out of it and I had to buy a new suitcase in Rome.  I was only in Barcelona for one night and I was so excited and giddy for the adventures ahead. I awoke very early the next morning to catch a flight to Munich so I said goodbye for now to Barcelona. I would return for a few days at the end of the trip before flying home.
Goodbye Barcelona....Hello Munich!

We landed in Munich (I was traveling with a really good friend and met friends and family along the way) We were in Munich for the night with one purpose..to see Coldplay. The bonus was that we got to explore the beautiful city of Munich for the day. I really liked Germany a few things I took away were this:

1. I felt like I fit in, everywhere I looked there were tall women and tall men. The people were not slight tiny little people. I liked that feeling. I liked feeling like everybody else.
2. Munich had good food.
3. Everyone smoked....like everyone.

I learned that bratwurst smothered in sauerkraut is yummy and to watch out for the ketchup pump because it squirts straight out instead of down and got all over my sleeve.

I had the most delicious freshly squeezed juice at a market there. It was part of a farmers market veggie stand and SO GOOD.

Don't you just love open air markets? I do.

The Glockenspiel the largest cuckoo clock was very cool to see but not a five star experience maybe more like a two star.

It rained all day in Munich and lucky for us it was really the only rain we saw our whole trip.

Next up...Coldplay
